Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2014 Meursault Clos du Cromin, which includes old vines planted in 1927 and young vines planted in 2000, has a delightful bouquet that is understated at first, coquettish and reluctantly revealing yellow plum, cold granite and flinty notes, more Puligny-like than Meursault at the moment. The palate is very well defined with a keen thread of acidity, well-poised fresh lime, green apple and a touch of gooseberry towards the persistent finish. This is a superb expression of this village cru.

Pale, bright yellow. Subdued nose hints at pear and mint. A bit disjointed in the early going, showing more acidity and less gras than usual for this cuvée , not to mention less aromatic complexity. Flavors of lemon, lime, mint and minerals are framed by a strong spine of acidity. Finishes quite dry, even a bit phenolic. A bit of hail here in late June affected the ripeness of this fruit.
