The 2013 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru les Referts offers enticing apple peelings, Conference pear and citrus fruit on the nose that is austere at first but it opens nicely in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp citric fruit, superb harmony and focus, gently unfolding to a tangerine and orange zest-infused finish with hints of apricot on the aftertaste. This is one of the domaine’s best wines in 2013. Outstanding.
