(from five parcels within the same small area not far from the calcareous Maranges La Fussière): Bright light-medium yellow with a green tinge. A touch of smoky reduction on the nose. Shows good calcaire-driven mineral energy but its hard edge calls for a racking. The flavors of yellow peach and mirabelle are complicated by a floral note. Offers inviting high tones, but will this wine loosen up? "Here one can pick ripe and with high acidity," said Marc Bachelet. Potential alcohol was just 12.5% and the Bachelets didn't chaptalize, although Marc noted that they would have if the wine was a premier cru.
