Tasting Notes and Scores
Medium red. Exotic candied raspberry, game, rose petal and crushed stone on the come-hither nose. Delivers outstanding clarity of flavor without any hard edges, with the red berry and mineral flavors lifted by a floral topnote. Wonderfully refined and alive in the middle palate. Finishes with noble tannins and outstanding building vibrant length. A prime example of an impeccably balanced 2013 that's not a fleshpot.

The 2013 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru comes across a little stemmy on the nose, opening gradually with loamy black fruit, briary and Dorset plum. The palate is backward with good grip, quite a sturdy and forthright Clos-de-Bèze with fine balance and definition. Whilst I think the 2013 has been surpassed by more recent vintages, this is evolving into a fine Grand Cru. Tasted at Goedhuis & Co.'s annual Burgundy tasting in London.
