Tasting Notes and Scores
Pale, bright yellow. Lively aromas of ginger, orange zest and crushed rock. At once sweet, fine-grained and vibrant, with harmonious acidity giving shape and lift to the ripe pineapple, stone fruit and almond flower flavors. Impressively dense, even thick, for the year, with a plush, long, very ripe yet surprisingly dry aftertaste. This Perrières really dusts the palate. The wine's savory minerality should enable it to evolve gracefully.
Wine Independent
The 2016 Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières has a fresh and perfumed bouquet with scents of orange blossom and rose petals on the nose. Other vintages have displayed more mineral drive at this stage, but it is certainly pretty. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity and a sappy salinity coming through on the second half that concludes with a saliva-inducing aftertaste. Excellent. NM
