Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2019 Echézeaux Grand Cru has more fruit concentration on the nose than Grivot, but there is a fair lacquer of new oak that will need several years to be subsumed. The palate is medium-bodied, sensual, plush and rounded, but there is a decent spine of acidity that maintains freshness and tension, and a savory notes of pepper and bay leaf on the finish. It becomes a little angular with aeration and even more peppery. Mercurial. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
