Tasting Notes and Scores
(from organically farmed vines; entirely destemmed): Moderately saturated medium red. Slightly reduced aromas of red cherry, raspberry and spices. Fine-grained and fresh in the mouth, with red berry, earth and spice flavors complicated by a saline character. Finishes with a smooth dusting of tannins. Not at all a sweet style but shows very good energy and length.

The 2014 Corton Grand Cru Clos du Roi had a slightly pinched nose when we met, a hint of menthol percolating through the black cherry and blueberry fruit that reluctantly came forth. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a little "chunky" in the mouth with a rather austere finish. Hopefully it will develop more fruité and a tad more finesse by the time of bottling.
