Medium red. Cool aromas of cherry, cocoa, licorice and eucalyptus. Tightly wound and rather tough today; not at all expressive. I wonder whether this backward, slightly dry wine is primary enough today to really blossom with time in bottle. Finishes firmly tannic.

Elegant black fruit with intense, delineated, slightly warm flavors that offer buckets of Vosne spice, terrific intensity and grand cru quality length. While not particularly dense, the balance is impeccable. Wonderful juice in a lighter style. Drink: 2006-12
