Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2020 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru, aged 50% in oak barrels, conveys a fine sense of mineralité on the nose - gunflint, light fumé scents, gradually unfurling in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. Quite precise, smooth in texture, it offers traces of chamomile and orchard fruit mixed with white peach towards the finish. This stands out by a mile compared to others tasted from this producer, though the vintage may have a bearing. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis.
