The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Caillerets 1er Cru has a perfumed bouquet, quite floral in style, with pressed white flowers and light waxy scents unfurling in the glass. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, taut and fresh, with bitter lemon towards the finish that just attenuates slightly and misses the depth of its peers. A bit "hardcore" at first, though it unfolds wonderfully and develops a sensual creaminess without losing any mineralité . Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
