Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2017 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has a beautifully defined bouquet of black cherries, wild strawberry, desiccated orange peel and crushed stone. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained, quite supple tannins for this particular Grand Cru. The structure comes in the second half, which is saline and strict, and very finely proportioned on the finish. Quintessentially Latricières. Wonderful. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.

Mid cherry red. More intensely fragrant with pure fruit than the Clos de la Roche, more immediate, and with what seems like a stemmy, almost herbal freshness to overlay the fruit. More savoury on the palate, fine tannic grip and all so elegant. Scented to the long, deliciously dry finish. (JH)
