The 2022 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Brûlées looks to be the finest rendition of this site I've tasted chez Eugenie. Mingling aromas of raspberries and plums with top notes of orange zest, peonies and spices, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and textural, with melting tannins that frame a core of bright, perfumed fruit.

The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Aux Brûlées 1er Cru includes 80% whole clusters (the highest ever), five of the nine barrels new. In the first tasting, the stem addition comes through strongly on the nose and just occludes some of the terroir profile. But during the second tasting, one month later, I found the stems definitely more enmeshed and there is an attractive potpourri element. The palate is quite fresh and peppery, but on both occasions, the stems are very tangible. Here, I might have just dialed down the whole bunch to say, 50%, but let's see how it matures in bottle.
