The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny shows plenty of village character in its silky fruit and open, expressive bouquet. This classy, accessible Chambolle is an excellent choice for near-term enjoyment.

This has an attractive bouquet with redcurrant, pomegranate, smoke and a touch of limestone. Good definition. The palate is crisp on the entry with strawberry, cranberry and red cherry, firm tannins, just a little brusque towards the finish but good length. Very fine. Tasted November 2010.

Very ripe nose seems a bit undifferentiated. Sweet, broad and fat but a bit lacking in detail. A big wine for Chambolle but a bit lacking in cut and acidity. Chocolatey on the back end.

Dark crimson. Starting to reduce a bit. Lovely sweet fruit and smoothness. Really round and charming. Just what you want, especially if on half-price offer... (JR)
