The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village is also showing very well, exhibiting aromas of Griotte cherries, raspberries and blood orange, framed by a deft application of creamy new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, succulent and youthfully structural, its ample chassis of surprisingly muscular but powdery tannin cloaked in succulent fruit. It's promising, but based on this showing, it will also require patience.

The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village is showing just a little jamminess on the nose, a little confit in style. The palate is well balanced with sappy black fruit laced with white pepper, and gentle grip on the marine-influenced finish. Fine.

From Les Drazey at the ‘more structured’ Morey end of Chambolle, below Bonnes Mares. Only one punchdown in 2018 because this site produces tannic wines like Les Herbues. The blend will include 25% new oak. Barrel sample. Deep crimson. Ripe, dark fruit. Deeply floral but much more violet than peony, black not red cherry. Firm, smooth texture. Deep and thickly smooth.
