Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin is quite pretty. Rose petals, mint, sweet spices and anise all lift form the glass. In this vintage, the Gevrey is especially floral and savory, much of that coming from the inclusion of 25% whole clusters.

(vinified with 80% whole clusters): Healthy medium red. Musky aromas of small wild red fruits. Sweet and supple on the palate, displaying good cut and grip thanks to the stem-influenced pepper and herb elements. Not a thick wine but sappy and persistent, finishing with a lingering saline quality.

The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin Village, which had not been racked, has a light but crisp raspberry and Morello bouquet. The palate is crisp with a fine line of acidity, pretty red berry fruit with a light but focused finish. This should constitute a decent Village Cru once bottled.

Bright crimson. Round and transparent. Sweet fruit and hint of dryness on the end. Very charming. (JR)
