Tasting Notes and Scores

The 2019 Pommard Les Saucilles 1er Cru, matured with 30-40% whole bunches, just lacks a little intensity on the nose compared to Glantenay’s other crus. Light rose petal notes emerge with time. The palate is pretty with tart red berries mixed with a splash of size, gentle in the mouth and just missing a little grip on the finish. I suspect that this will be one of the domaine’s earlier drinking crus.

Cask sample. Perfumed and seductive. Fine, grainy tannins and well differentiated from his Volnays. Very appetising. The neat, brisk finish is bone dry. (JR)
