(aged in 75% new oak): Good deep red. Musky, deep aromas of raspberry, chocolate and nutty oak. A step up in intensity and definition from the basic cuvee , with sweet red fruit and cocoa powder flavors complemented by burnished wood tones. Lovely energy for such a broad wine. Finishes with a fine dusting of tannins. Today I find this more vibrant than the 2012 version.

Mid cherry red. One of the most voluptuous of these 2011 Clos Vougeots. Bitter cherries and lots of punchy fruit with attack. Still very youthful but with good potential. Dry but neat and clean finish. Some persistence. (JR)
