Deep, bright ruby-red. Complex nose combines dark berries, licorice, spices, leather and smoked meat. Bright, concentrated, dense and deep; unusually silky and powerful for this cuvee Complicating animal aspect. Finishes with big, dusty tannins and very good length. A very strong vintage for this wine.

Strawberries, raspberries, and jammy cherries can be found in the aromatics of the 1999 Beaune Clos Des Mouches. Medium-bodied and forward, it has a plummy, red and black fruit-flavored character.
