The 2001 Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche offers buttered mineral and white flower aromas. Deep, complex, suave, and satin-textured, this medium-bodied wine coats the taster's palate with minerals, crisp pears, and spices. Some lemony notes appear in its lengthy finish. Projected maturity: 2005-2012. This famed negociant firm performed substantially more batonnage on its 2001 whites in an attempt to give them additional body.
