Tasting Notes and Scores

89-91 AM

A deft application of wood sets off a moderately soil-inflected nose along with notes of spice, plum and pretty wild red berry scents. There is good punch and detail to the velvet-textured middle weight flavors that terminate in a firm and ever-so-mildly rustic finish that delivers fine depth and excellent persistence. Drink: 2018+

Good medium-dark red with ruby highlights. Tight nose offers blackberry, violet, menthol and a touch of oak spice (Philippe Drouhin finds this too oaky). The palate offers good richness and breadth, with dark berry flavors showing an element of finesse. Finishes with building oak tannins.
