Tasting Notes and Scores
Tasted at the Domaine. This has a lot of fruit intensity on the nose with raspberry leaf and strawberry, a touch of smoked walnut with time. The palate has a crisp entry with ripe tart cherry fruit, quite linear at the moment but very fine transparency and mineralite. Good grip on the finish, just a little hardness at the moment but that will disappear by the time of bottling. Tasted November 2010.

Good bright, dark red. Subdued red fruits on the nose. Liqueur-like cherry and raspberry flavors seem a bit undifferentiated but are not overly sweet. In a rather soft, lush style, finishing with a hint of bitter chocolate and smooth tannins.

The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny Les Gruenchers wafts from the glass with freshly cut flowers, spices and raspberries. This is an understated, pretty 2009. The Gruenchers is at times a bit fleeting. Otherwise it is a fine, nicely balanced effort. This bottle was quite a bit less impressive than the bottle I tasted earlier in the year.
