Tasting Notes and Scores
Unwinding in the glass with aromas of cassis, dark berries and plums mingled with spices, sweet soils tones, vine smoke and petals, Dujac's 2020 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru is full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with a pure, vibrant core of fruit that's framed by powdery tannins and lively acids. Serious and structured, though it's far from austere, this will richly reward patience.

The 2020 Clos-de-la-Roche Grand Cru has an extremely pure bouquet with blackberry, raspberry, violet and crushed stone. This feels very focused and classy. The palate is very well balanced with supple tannins, fine acidity, very smooth and sensual with a welcome touch of bitterness towards the finish. A gorgeous wine, although I feel that Clos Saint-Denis has the edge.

On clay soils. Racked one week ago. Cask sample. Deep cherry. Morey ‘mass’; deeply black-fruited. Closed today and tight-lipped. Imposing, with 'something of the night' about it. Impresses more by its weight than expression. (MH)
