Tasting Notes and Scores
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 30/04/2012 The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny Aux Combottes bursts from the glass with tons of energy. The Combottes has a firm tannic spine to back up the highly expressive fruit. Flowers, spices and juicy red berries are layered into the energetic finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. My tasting at Dujac was one of the highlights of the two weeks I spent in Burgundy in late November/early December 2011. I tasted through all the 2010s in barrel and 2009s in bottle. The domaine’s 2009s are among the wines of the vintage. The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Combottes is a round, juicy wine with generous fruit and a supple personality. The oak seems a bit dominant here, which is the only thing that keeps the score from going higher. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029. This is a beautiful set of wines from Dujac. The harvest started on September 10 and ended on the 17th. Jeremy Seysses told me he wanted to pick on the early side in order to preserve freshness. In a similar vein, Seysses kept the fermentations short and gentle to avoid over-extracting. I also tasted a handful of 2008s, which are beautiful wines that are true to type and site. In 2008 the estate finished its conversion to fully organic farming originally started in 2001. Dujac fans have a lot to look forward to in these two vintages. () (90)

(80% vendange entier Bright deep red. Black cherry, rose petal, licorice and herbs on the nose. Sappier than the Morey 1 er Cru, with lovely mineral lift giving energy and inner-mouth perfume to the very ripe, succulent palate. At once fleshy and fresh, in the style of the better 2009s.

Outstanding. A fresh though very reserved nose that is airy, cool and admirably pure offers up plenty of floral notes along with the muted red berry fruit. The mineral-infused, tight and beautifully well-detailed middle weight flavors possess a lovely serenity on the harmonious, long, balanced and linear finish. This is exquisite and fashioned in an understated style. Drink: 2019+
