The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru had just a very slight reduction, but there is plenty of well-defined raspberry and wild strawberry fruit present and correct here. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, pretty and very pure, smooth but I would not say "silky" in texture, full of tension with a touch of sour cherry on the fresh sapid finish.

The 2021 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts reveals notes of red berries, plums, vine smoke, exotic spices and bergamot. Medium to full-bodied, supple and sensual, with a fleshy core of perfumed fruit and melting structuring tannins, it's charming and elegant.

Les Beaux Monts Bas. 73.25 ares (1.81 acres). Harvested 29 September 2021. Cask sample. Bright, clear, deep cherry. Raspberry, red and black cherries. There is great delicacy here, and there’s earthy, underbrush complexity, too. Fine enough, but again lacking a little drive? (MH)
