Tasting Notes and Scores

92 ST

Musky hazelnut, pineapple and a sexy grilled nuance on the nose. Silky and opulent yet weightless on entry, then fat and fruity in the middle, with excellent cut to the citrus and stone flavors. Firms up dramatically on the back end, leaving an impression of high acidity and superb energy without coming across as hard-the same trick pulled off by the 2008 version.

Served at Cordeillan Bages by Jean-Charles Cazes instead of a (tragically?) oxidised bottle of DRC Montrachet 2010, bottle number 713. Pale greenish gold. Unfurled aromatically but still lemony and pretty tight. Smoky reductive nose and a sightly dry finish but wonderfully ambitious and successful for a village wine. More proof of 2007's superiority?
