Tasting Notes and Scores

The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes was halfway through its malo when I tasted it from barrel. This has 58% whole bunch. Dark berry fruit, quite marine-influenced compared to Esmonin’s other cuvées, this aromatics are not to be assessed at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, plenty of red fruit again with a silky finish. This has potential but I won’t score for now.
