Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2012 Chambertin Grand Cru is rarely seen, the Clos-de-Bèze much more common from Faiveley. It has plenty of undergrowth, Earl Grey scents on the nose, with touches of red fruit, but I would have liked more given the Grand Cru in question. The palate is medium-bodied, tinged with brine and black truffle and structured with a firm, stolid finish. Pleasurable, but it lacks a bit of pizzazz. Tasted at Robert's dinner in Beaune.
