(on the opposite side of the village from the Combe d'Orveau): Deep red-ruby. The nose shows a chocolatey ripeness and strong emerging minerality to the aromas of black raspberry, wild herbs, soil tones and black licorice. Wonderfully smooth and sweet but with serious energy and saline minerality. Conveys strong terroir character. Finishes rich and long, with chewy but well-integrated tannins. .

Mid crimson. Smells riper and darker fruited than many in this Faiveley line-up. Tight, fresh and fine-boned. Lively, juicy and persistent, if without a great deal of depth on the mid palate. (JH)
