Tasting Notes and Scores
Good medium red. Deep, smoky aromas of ripe berries, meat and tobacco. Silky-smooth and rich on entry, then ripe, layered and deep. Seductively rich and deceptively easy to taste today. This has terrific stuffing. Finishes with very fine tannins and excellent length.

Tasting note: Always one of Faiveley's best wines and the '02 is no exception with an incredibly complex nose of damp earth, minerals, game and a slightly wild fruit component followed by wonderfully sappy, deep, broad, muscular flavors and knock-out purity of expression. I very much like this and the finish is long and strikingly persistent.

Dark red. Aromas of kirsch , mocha and black olive complicated by a balsamic note; a bit odd but quite fresh. Lush on the attack, then turns a bit dry and autumnal in the middle palate, showing more underbrush than game or fruit. Finishes with a strong oaky quality. Made from what advisor Bernard Hervet described as "a tougher vintage here," (he only began consulting for Faiveley in 2007), this wine does not show the fruit retention of today's Faiveley wines, and its slightly bitter note of uncured oak is a holdover from the old regime here.
