Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2018 Corton Grand Cru has a tertiary nose that demands more encouragement than its peers. Predominantly red fruit, hints of morels, fine delineation with focus, it just lacks a bit of vigour. The palate is clean and fresh on the entry with notes of sour cherry and strawberry, hints of tobacco and pencil lead towards the finish (Corton with a soupçon of Pauillac perchance?) Decent persistency and yet there is a minor TCA that just scalps the finish. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.
