The 2016 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru La Forge de Tart is also showing well, displaying an attractive bouquet of cherries, dark chocolate and pungent soil tones, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy palate with nice concentration and depth.

La Forge de Tart hails from vines that are less than 20 years old, and the 2016 is pleasant but not profound, offering up notes of raspberry, cherry and spice framed by new oak. On the palate the wine is supple, juicy and quite open knit. It's attractively balanced for near-term consumption, but missing some depth and concentration.
