Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2013 Chambertin Grand Cru has a little more intensity on the nose compared to the Clos-de-Bèze: blackberry, hints of seaweed and violets, very fine mineralité roiling underneath. The palate is medium-bodied with svelte tannins that lend it a silky texture, belying the tannins underneath the bonnet. This should be intriguing to taste out of bottle - all the constituents are here.

Medium red. Alluring floral lift to the aromas of redcurrant, raspberry, crushed stone and sexy oak. Dense, broad and energetic, with a captivating subtle sweetness to the red berry and mineral flavors. Really saturates the palate and builds on the back end, finishing with noble, fine-grained tannins. Fourrier uses the same percentage of new oak to age his négociant and domain wines--around 20%.
