Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2009 Morey St. Denis Clos Solon is classy and elegant. Bright red fruits melt into flowers as this inviting, graceful wine opens up in the glass. Though understated, there is plenty of underlying material here. The finish is long and substantial. This is a terrific entry-level Burgundy.

Medium red. Raspberry and coffee on the very ripe nose. Wonderfully rich and thick but fresh, with a distinct oak influence (Fourrier uses about 20% new oak across the board to age his wines). Raspberry, mocha and smoke notes carry through on the rich finish, which shows slightly drying tannins. A substantial village offering.

Light and bright cherry. Not much nose but very attractive well-balanced transparent racy stuff. Pof! (JR)
