The 2023 Fixin Les Champs des Charmes comes from vines planted in 1960 that Galeyrand told me impart light licorice scents, more like Gevrey than Fixin. And you do pick that up here, tincturing the blackberry fruit notes. The palate is medium-bodied and lightly spiced, with pliant tannins, fine structure, poise and a touch of white pepper toward the finish. This is excellent.
