Tasting Notes and Scores
Opening in the glass with aromas of plums and cassis mingled with subtle hints of peonies and spices, the 2018 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with an ample core of fruit, succulent acids and fine, powdery tannins that gently assert themselves on the finish. It's a voluptuous, fruit-driven Pruliers from Gouges, and it will offer a broad drinking window.

The 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Pruliers 1er Cru has an elegant bouquet of pure dark cherries and light loamy aromas; there is an admirable sense of cohesion here. The palate is fine-boned with impressive focus, the predominantly red fruit lightly spiced (clove and sage), and an energetic and persistent finish. This is showing promise.

Mid-pale cherry. Red cherry, cassis, zesty blood-orange and ferrous notes. A palate that is round and supple, even though a little bit shy at the moment. Plenty of power and structure underneath though. Not showing the heat of the vintage – which is good. Very early days. (MH)
