Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2015 Pommard 1er Cru Clos des Arvelets, which contains 10% whole bunch (although I could not tell at all) and 50% new wood, has a very expressive bouquet with bright red cherry and cranberry leaf notes, some lovely undergrowth scents developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannin, quite fleshy for a Pommard with fine balance towards the finish. I expect this to land at the top of my banded score.

2014 was the first vintage of this wine. 20% whole bunch. Very bright cherry red. Lots of ripe red fruit and round and not too dry on the end. Like a lighter version of the very successful Dugat-Py Pommard. Crunchy. Throbs a bit. Finishes a little bit suddenly. (JR)
