Tasting Notes and Scores
Here too there are residual sulfur notes that are only background nuances to the otherwise very fresh and dense green fruit and stone aromas that introduce intensely mineral-driven, firm, rich and enveloping flavors that display a taut muscularity on the strikingly powerful, focused and bone dry finish that is really quite explosive. Like the Montrachet, this should reward at least a decade of long-term cellaring. A brilliant example of the appellation. - comments: Don't miss!
Allen Meadows
Wine Advocate August, 2000 Well balanced is the 1998 Nardo. It exhibits a deep, saturated ruby/purple color in addition to gorgeously jammy blackberry and cassis flavors infused with smoke, minerals, licorice, and toast. There is terrific intensity as well as a long, medium to full-bodied finish with well-integrated acidity, tannin, and wood. It should drink well for 10-15 years. ()
