Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2012 Volnay is a villages in name only, as it is a blend of fruit from four 1r Cru sites that are too small to be vinified on their own. Small red berries, raspberries, mint, cinnamon and licorice are some of the many notes that take shape in the glass. Aromatic, nuanced and refined, the 2012 is classic Volnay in its flavor profile and essentially medium-bodied structure. Today, the 2012 is firing on all cylinders. What a gorgeous wine this is.

Bright, dark red. Sweet red berries, nutty oak and subtle soil tones on the nose. Fat, sweet and spicy, showing good fullness for village wine. Savory, serious Volnay with good vinosity and density and a saline complexity. Finishes with broad, building, ripe tannins and good savory persistence.
