Tasting Notes and Scores

91 ST

Deep red with ruby highlights. Tight, cool nose offers precise scents of blackberry and minerals. Concentrated, taut and sappy; quite different in texture from the Craipillots and Petite Chapelle. Very fresh and primary, with strong saline soil tones. Big and chewy for the vintage but with no heaviness. Finishes with ripe, serious tannins and excellent minerally persistence. This will need a good eight years in the cellar. Humbert told me the vines here are "just" 40 years old, and that this cuvee has only started getting interesting since 2001.
