Deep red. Black- and redcurrant, blackberry and licorice on the rather cool nose. Surprisingly supple and slightly high-toned in a positive way, with its blackberry and spice flavors complicated by saline minerality. Offers good stuffing for village wine and finishes tactile, savory and sweet. This wine continued to draw me back for another sip.

Leaning towards a riper fruit character than is typical of the vintage, almost a little stewed, but the palate is fresh and lively, with a juicy finish. (JH)
