Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Village is matured in 20% new oak (production reduced from the usual 40 barrels to just 23). Raspberry, cassis and a touch of mint unfold on the focused nose, which carries floral topnotes. The medium-bodied palate delivers tart red berry fruit on the entry. Nicely structured and fresh, with orange zest enlivening the finish. This should drink well over the next decade.

Cask sample. Relatively deep crimson. Intense ripe mulberry fruit on the nose. Marked acidity keeps this fresh and youthful, and fine tannins too. A little sturdier than some Chambolles but this bottle should be worth cellaring. The ingredients are all in place for a satisfying mature bottle. Quite long. (JR)
