Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2017 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) is showing brilliantly from bottle, wafting from the glass with an inviting bouquet of cherries, raspberries and red plums, mingled with notes of orange rind, sweet spices and flowers. On the palate, it's full-bodied, supple and enveloping, with velvety tannins, excellent depth at the core, succulent acids and a perfumed finish.

The 2017 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru has a very well-defined, fresh, complex bouquet of cranberry leaf, freshly tilled loam and wet limestone. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit and good grip, a little stocky, like the Corton-Grèves, but with a touch of precision. Perhaps this will be the pick of Jadot’s Corton Grand Crus.

Cask sample. Pale crimson and notably aromatic. Much, much more palate intensity than the Corton-Les Grèves. Really grabs the attention and has both fruit and structure – a future. For those who insist on a grand cru, this is GV – relatively. (JR)
