Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2019 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru has a beguiling bouquet of pure dark cherry and violet aromas, quite mineral-driven and wonderfully delineated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine grip, and touches of graphite and white pepper toward the sustained finish. This feels cohesive and long, and it should age with style for 20–30 years.

Notes of rich berry fruit, plum compote, orange rind and toasty oak introduce the 2019 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru (Maison Louis Jadot), a full-bodied, rich and muscular wine that's let down by a rather ephemeral finish.

Cask sample. Deep crimson. Intense nose with various rich biscuit nuances. Intense sour-cherry notes. Voluptuous sour fruit on the palate. Almost painful acidity at the moment! Very intense fruit register. Definitely grand cru fruit weight. I wonder when this was picked? Tastes like it was picked early and from a low yield. Lots of acidity in evidence. (JR)
