Tasting Notes and Scores
Glowing fresh crimson colour. The nose shows fresh fruit without detail as yet. I am impressed by the weight and energy of this very promising Clos Vougeot. There is plenty up front, muscular, but enough behind too. A beautiful finish as pure class peeps throughout. Very happy with this! Drink from 2032-2040.

Ripe yet cool and attractively layered aromas include those of various red berries, spice and pungent earth nuances. The rich, punchy and delineated middle weight flavors are not particularly concentrated though they are solidly powerful on the dusty, firmly austere and very much built-to-age finale. Fine quality here in a built-to-age package yet I would underscore that this isn't so backward that it couldn't be enjoyed after only 5 to 7 years of cellaring. Drink: 2034+.

The 2022 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, which comes from foudre, has a very pure and seductive bouquet with glossy red cherries and strawberry fruit mixed with incense and violets. The palate is medium-bodied with a little chewiness on the entry. Quite a sinewy Clos Vougeot with impressive weight on the mid-palate, if missing a little precision on the finish. Sure, it will improve during the remainder of its élevage, but give it 4-5 years in bottle. Drinking Window 2026 - 2042.
