Good dark red. Perfumed, delicate aromas of minerals and musky flowers. Suave and intense, with lovely lift and energy to the flavors of raspberry, pepper and minerals. Beautifully delineated wine, finishing with noble tannins and excellent subtle length. From the lieu-dit Les Rouges.

As spicy as the Suchots is, the Ech takes it to another level with very ripe and almost exclusively black berry fruit, warm earth and a background note of minerality that slides into very fresh, rich, round and forward medium plus weight flavors that are quite generous, even fleshy yet there is good delineation on the delicious, powerful and persistent finish that is supported by relatively fine tannins. This is a lovely wine of balance and harmony that is built to age over the next decade or so. Tasted: April 2009
