Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées (Domaine Louis Jadot) reveals a deep bouquet of plums, dark berry fruit, exotic spices, orange rind and raw cocoa. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and concentrated, with powdery tannins, tangy acids and a mineral finish, it's a real success.

The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuées 1er Cru has a reserved bouquet, a mixture of red and black fruit, black pepper, allspice and just a hint of pencil shavings. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, fresh and lightly spiced with a harmonious, almost Vosne-like finish where I just wanted to see a little more mineralité. Let’s see if it gains some during the remainder of its barrel maturation.

Cask sample. Mid translucent cherry red. Gorgeously fragrant with tart red fruits but also some citrus and a spice that reminds me of nutmeg. Floral too. So many scented layers. More floral as it opens. Scented on the mid palate, lighter-bodied than some, flirtatious, lively, mouth-watering. While my score is 'only' 16.5, I absolutely loved this. Perhaps a little lean but decent length. (JH)
