Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2014 Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru la Romanée offers attractive scents of citrus fruit, yellow flower and minerals, all nicely defined and gaining in intensity in the glass. The palate is fresh and vibrant with crisp acidity, just a smidgen of sour lemon that enlivens that palate, and with superb salinity and race on the finish. This is one of my favoite white premier crus from Louis Jadot this year.

Densely packed but a bit tart, showing less class than the Caillerets. Boasts good breadth and texture but this wine will need time to absorb its lemony acidity. Finishes a touch sour. Less harmonious than the Caillerets; I found myself wondering if this wine finished with too much malic acidity.

Vinous
Creamy and mealy on the nose. Rich with lemon and clementine on the palate. Fine harmony of deep, crisp citrus with a firm, dry, almost chalky texture. Delicious even in youth. (JH)
