Tasting Notes and Scores
Aromas of pear, peach, hazelnuts, white flowers and buttery pastry preface the 2022 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes (Domaine Louis Jadot), a medium to full-bodied, satiny and charming wine with lively acids and a saline finish. It's the finest Charmes that Jadot has produced from the former Prieur-Brunet holdings to date.

The 2023 Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru was picked a week later than Jadot's other Meursault Premier Crus. It has an understated bouquet, well defined though it needs a little more intensity and presence given the vineyard in question. The palate is medium-bodied with a touch of walnut and ginger on the entry. Quite saline with good depth on the finish, this is a "solid" Meursault Charmes that will drink well over the next 15 to 18 years.

Vinous
Cask sample. Again, broad and rich on the nose like the Narvaux. A little smoky and with some luxuriously floral (lilies?) notes. Not subtle but should satisfy many a white-burgundy fan. (JR)
