The 2009 Puligny-Montrachet Les Combettes is a rich, sensual wine. Layers of crushed rocks, slate and focused fruit emerge from this classy, beautifully articulated white. The textured, vivid finish is marvelous. With air the wine's energy and sheer tension take greater shape in the glass. This is a marvelously complete wine with the pedigree to drink well for a number of years.

Bright pale yellow. Spicy, high-pitched aromas of curry powder, nutmeg, ginger and vanillin oak, with good stony lift. Round, broad and suave; stuffed with pineapple and nut oil flavors brightened by flowers and stone on the back end. This should offer plenty of early appeal but should also last well.
