Tasting Notes and Scores
Initially slightly closed. Great concentration of black fruit and a touch of spice. Incredibly youthful. Lovely fruit purity and precision. An absolute baby but will be incredible in time!
Bordeaux Index
Jadotâs 2007 Vosne-Romanee Les Beaux Monts leads with almost smolderingly smoky notes suggesting black tea and Latakia tobacco, along with licorice, blackberry, cassis, and hints of well hung game and fading lily. On the one hand this is surprisingly bright and tart-edged for its vintage; on the other, its very ripe dark fruits are underscored by a hint of caramel, yet the effect is more intriguing than in any way awkwardly bifurcated. A decadent and pungent complexity such as promised on the nose persists in a lingering finish. This should merit following for 6-8 years, and quite possibly longer.
Wine Advocate
An elegant and restrained blue berry and black raspberry nose brims with natural spiciness that continues onto the detailed, mineral suffused and acceptably concentrated flavors that culminate in a balanced, textured and beautifully persistent finish. This is stylish, pure and linear and though not as complex as I would like to see, the underlying material appears to be present to allow this to develop and my score reflects this optimism.
